No, we don't really use any flavored marzipans or fondants over here, which is a pity. : D
I actually didn't even know they did that until last weekend. We're a bit of a backwater-country in that respect. : )

yes. we cheated a bit and made them using round flats cut with different-sized cutters and rolling them up to make a tube that yielded two roses from the ends. : )
